Boat maintenance without the big-yard experience. If a job needs specialized marine mechanical, electrical, structural or rigging work, Dave will tell you.

Odd Jobs & To-Do Lists

The list that never gets shorter: the door that sticks, the shelf that's still in its box, the tap that drips, the picture leaning against the wall. That's exactly the kind of work Tide & Timber was created for.

How it works

  • Send Dave your list, along with a few photos of each item
  • He'll tell you what can reasonably be completed during one service visit
  • Anything that needs a specialist gets pointed to the right professional instead

Who you’d be working with

Experienced hands. Practical solutions.

Based in Santa Cruz County, owner Dave Stephens brings a hands-on approach, straightforward communication, and respect for your home, property, or boat.

Dave is not new to construction. He has spent more than 20 years designing, building, repairing, and troubleshooting custom homes and commercial properties, and his background also covers marine mechanics, ASE-certified automotive repair, and 15 years as a commercial diver repairing ships around the world.

Rather than taking on large-scale construction, Dave now focuses that experience on the smaller home repairs, property maintenance, and marine projects where skilled workmanship and practical problem-solving make a real difference.

For Tide & Timber clients, that means getting far more than a typical handyman: the knowledge of an experienced professional home builder, for the smaller projects that still deserve to be done correctly.
